Course: Employability Skills                                     

Description: Do you want to improve your chances at getting and keeping a job?   Come to this 12 week course and learn the job skills employers are looking for in their employees. You will be required to practice the new skills at work, home and in the community. Some of the skills to be taught include the following:
·        Non-verbal body language
·        Team work                                    
·        Work relationships
·        Accepting responsibility
·        Self-advocacy
·        First impressions
·        Interview skills

Enroll in this fun and interactive course specially designed for individuals with disabilities.

Dates:   This class is typically taught once in the Fall and once in the Spring

Who should register? Anyone who wants to better him or herself by learning how to fit in the work culture.  Work is not only about completing a task but also getting along with co-workers, managers, etc...  This class will teach vital social skills needed to keep a job.  This class is open to students that are 18 years or older. 

 The space is limited so call early.

This course was developed by Richardson Independent School District and funded through a grant from the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities.  Supporting research was provided by: TRC, Dallas Metro Care, TCB, NE Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, parents, teachers, self-advocates, teachers, social skill experts, supported employment experts, and NAMI.
